Below are some of my favorite poetic works that I have created...
Poem #1: Sitting in a freezing room, I dreamed about the luxury my fuzzy socks could bring me, so I decided to write about my love for them. I wanted to write an ode to fuzzy socks and I tried to make it as exaggerated as possible. I love my diction choices and I love the structure I chose to use. Enjoy!

Poem #2: Cancer is a something that has a strong affect on me because my mom battled Ovarian Cancer almost 10 years ago - she won. I wanted to use my experience to write this poem, so some of it is dramatized since I was only seven during my moms cancer; I wanted the poem to feel very real. I chose to number the stanzas with roman numerals to give the poem a strict - almost medical - feel. I hope you get something out of reading this poem.

Poem #3: After staring at a picture of my toddler self playing in leaves, I was struck by the fence that was faded in the background. It seems as though fences tend to be left out - unrecognized. I suddenly had the urge to write a poem about that old wooden fence. I played with tone - writing about what the fence had to endure and how those incidences affected the fence. I also love my diction choices throughout the poem. Please enjoy...
